As the quiet of night falls at the lakeshore by Lake Hamana-ko and Okusayama Hill, light illuminates the lake, and you will find yourself entering into the world of Grandscape. It’s a moving story told with light and flames, water displays and powerful dances. This work depicts the relationship between the people of Tōtōmi and nature. This year's production is an even more polished version of last year's. At this lakeside venue, loudspeakers placed around the seating area provides surround sound, utilizing an acoustic design that splits the room into separate spaces. The audience experiences a unique, realistic atmosphere with high-quality music, lifelike sounds of lightning, birdsong, and sutra chanting that swirl through the air during the climactic ‘hibuse’ dance scene.
